Having your cards read has more to do with what is at work in your life now, and from this point it sheds light on the probabilities of the future. All that exists, exists Now. Everything else is an illusion created by the mind. Your power to change things rests in the Now, no other time but Now. This is how you effect the future, which is always only Now.
Every thing, event, circumstance, person etc., comes into and out of your life based on past and present conditions, or what some may call karma. Karma is much more than "what goes around comes around", and while there is much to be said on the subject of karma I will not say too much about it here. What I will say, however, is that every single thing which exists is composed of nothing but energy - everything is nothing but energy. Even the job you may not enjoy, the foul people you may encounter - it's nothing but energy. Energy comes into as well as out of everyone's life. There is a saying that I really love, "The world is as you are". You are the very energy that you experience.
